What Is Recipe Splitting in Streamline? #
In Streamline, recipe splitting allows you to divide a large recipe into smaller, manageable mixes. This is helpful when your mixing equipment has a capacity limit (e.g., 250 kg per batch), but your recipe exceeds that limit.
You can choose between:
- Equal mix splitting
- Max mix + balance splitting
How to Split a Recipe in Streamline #
1. Set Splitting Option in Recipe Settings #
You can configure the splitting method directly in the recipe. The page will give you the option to:
- Split in equal mix
- Split in max + balance
Navigate to Recipe Totals if you prefer to set this on the fly.
2. Example Scenario #

Based on the image:
- The recipe requires 279 kg.
- The mixer has a maximum capacity of 250 kg.
- You’ve requested a 5% buffer, bringing the target to 280 kg.
If you choose:
- Equal Mix – The system will split into two equal mixes.
- Max + Balance – The system will split into 250 kg and 29.68 kg.
3. Unit Conversion Tips #
When entering recipe quantities:
- If changing units (e.g., from grams to kilos), update all coefficients.
- The system automatically adjusts weights but not coefficient values.
- Always verify calculations when changing units.
Best Practices #
- Always check the maximum mixer capacity before splitting.
- Use the auto-update feature carefully when switching units.
- Maintain consistency across ingredients, units, and totals for accurate results.
