Key Features of Book Recipes #
- Strict Recipe Adherence: Use for Recipes that must be made exactly as described by the book. For example: Cakes, sandwiches, etc.
- Cost Calculation per Book:
- Each recipe is costed by book (i.e., one complete unit or batch).
- When used in another recipe, the default Unit of Measure (UoM) is ‘each’, meaning one book.
- Yield-Based Item Costing: The cost of an item attached to it is calculated from its Yield – the number of pieces that one book yields.
- UoM Conversions Required: Conversions between UoM’s are required to compute costs and the total weight of the Recipe.
- Recipe-Specific Conversions: Bespoke UoM conversions specific to a recipe are allowed. That means that the conversion created is only used in the specific recipe.
